Task Management: 24 Hours: One Day At A Time: 86400 Seconds to Success
66Tomorrow is Today
Do you wonder why every day feels like déjà vu or why you never seem to get anything done? They say tomorrow is the busiest day of the week, but it doesn't have to be anymore. That was yesterday. Today, you start new, and you'll begin your successful journey with an unforgettable lesson.
You will leave this page knowing how to manage and analyze your daily tasks. There are only 24 hours in a day. Which means once you subtract the time spent sleeping, working, eating, and grooming (personal hygiene), you'll be lucky to have a few hours to your disposal. I say disposal, because that is exactly what we do with our free time. Time that can be spent fulfilling our dreams and overdue goals are lost in the TV or computer screen, forever deleted--click after click, channel by channel.
So, whether you're here to maximize your long-lost potential or put an end to the disease that is procrastination...learn, live, and don't look back!
Average Wasted Day
6:00AM- Alarm beeps (set so you can wake up early to eat and clean before work)
6:05AM- Finally your eyes open and you quickly hit the snooze button
6:10-7:20AM- You hit snooze 15 more times
7:25AM- You jump out of bed and quickly get ready for work without eating
8:03AM-5:00PM- You arrive late for work and then zone out for 9 hours
5:15PM- You get home and think about being productive
5:17PM- You get tired and bored of thinking
5:18PM- You "multitask" sitting down watching TV while you eat and surf the web
10:04PM- You go to the bathroom and realize you wasted your whole night...again
10:50PM- You push all of your tasks back till "tomorrow"
11:11PM- You wish for your dreams to come true, and do nothing to help them
?after midnight?- You pass out wondering why you never get anywhere in life
[REPEAT x365]
The Plan
We're all guilty of some of those aforementioned things, and it's very easy to relax after a long day at work. That's why it's very hard to accomplish your dreams and truly live up to your potential.
If you want to go to sleep each night knowing you're doing all that you can to succeed, then here are some tips to improve your task management.
-
Make a daily tasks/to-do list & check it at least 6 times a day: have it accessible to you at all times [tip: set silent alarms on your phone for reminders].
-
Create a list of priorities, distractions, and activities you want time for: replace distractions with your wanted activities.
-
Make a schedule: It's important in life to mix things up and try new things, but work and routine equal efficiency and success.
-
Monitor your day and write down your accomplishments: a blank page is motivation to do, do, and do more.

"Monitor your day and write down your accomplishments." - Have to agree. I've been doing this for some months now and wishes I had done so in the past! :) Jotting done what went on during my day just makes me realize how much time I wasted watching vids online - LOL! Vids are a major distractions for me, you see. Voting your hub up, useful, and awesome.
I use to be the person who multi-tasked-- eating, watching TV, and surfing the web at the same time. I didn't know you saw all that! :) But, now I set daily and long-term goals. It works! I enjoyed reading your hub. It is excellently written and full of sound information.
Keith, the schedule looked too much like mine. Thanks for the suggestions. Very wise. Good hub. Voted up.

Hi Keith, this is awesome for task management, this is certainly awareness for my actions. Voted up, thanks.
Great ideas-- I am going to put this on my to-do list! I used to be very guilty of the repeat snooze button... (Now I have kids, best alarm clocks ever). I find I do okay on the daily stuff, but the long-term goals... not so much. Thanks for the tips.

Task management is really needed for all of us. I liked the quotation "What you do today .................... your tomorrows".
Keep writing such good hubs.
